Client Work
Castor is a multidisciplinary design studio based in Toronto and Detroit. In addition to developing our own products, Castor offers design services from ideation through product launch and everything in between. With a speciality in housewares, home accessories, and lighting, we have assembled a team of creative directors, industrial designers, developers, and vendors to deliver world-class product design.
Whether a one-off or limited edition design for a startup, or a product for established companies pursuing mass production, we offer clients innovative thinking and production expertise every step of the way.
Our clients include Seth Rogen/Houseplant, Tokyo Smoke, EQ3, Opening Soon, Umbra, and Matty Matheson/Matheson Cookware among others.

Design Research
We begin with targeted market research as well as a broad spectrum of aesthetic, conceptual, and functional explorations.
Concept Development
Concept is paramount to Castor. Driven by inventive storytelling, we ideate through hand-drawn and digital processes, refining direction in partnership with our clients along the way.
Prototyping
Castor has a breadth of experience across a wide range of prototyping processes, including 3d printing, CNC, and machining, in addition to unique hand-made techniques and fabrication. This allows us to offer prototypes that best communicate the look, feel, and functionality that will inspire the final product.
Market Preparation
Once the design is finalized we follow through to production, including technical drawing packages for manufacturing. Castor has amassed a large vendor base, offering options for a wide variety of material and production processes with partners in North America, China, India, and East Asia.
Branding and Packaging
We offer logo design, branding decks, and graphic assets as well as packaging design services in order to align seamlessly with the finished product. We believe in a unified product and packaging experience for buyers, and put as much thought and innovation into the unboxing as we do the product itself.
